About

At Walking Stick Adventures, we provide ecology/biology based outdoor activities for students, scouts, family and adult groups. Our programs are hands-on and definitely experiential. We provide guided walks and field trips within our wonderful eastern Iowa habitats, from native prairie sites, upland oak-hickory timber and the Iowa River Corridor.

In addition to our outdoor adventures, our Tipi and farm pond is now available for private rental. The pond site is perfect for small private get-togethers and overnight camping. It is easily accessible, close to main travel routes, the Amana Colonies, local wineries and the Tanger Outlet Mall. We will provide a tipi to sleep in, recreation equipment such as kayaks, canoe, fishing equipment, beach toys and pond nets. In fact, all you have to bring is your food and sleeping bags, we have everything you might need to camp, cook, relax and enjoy your time with us.

We understand that this may be a new or different experience for some and we welcome any questions, comments or creative ideas! See our contact page to send us a message. Walking Stick Adventures is located at 2347 L Ave., Williamsburg, Iowa 52361.

Walking Stick Adventures is a DBA for Kids in Nature, LLC.

  1. Good Afternoon,
Im a disabled veteran, and was looking for a nice peaceful and quiet place to relax…. And I just love what I see on your site. My wife had never been camping ( in her life and she’s 55 now )… how ever when looking at you site I didn’t see if you allow pets. We have 2 dachshunds and a Yorker… I assure you they are well taken care of, as well as caged in crates when ever we are out of the room…. I guess my question would you allow us to stay at your facility with our pets…
Thanks for your time as I realize your very busy.

    Thomas,
Your pets are welcome here. We have 2 lab mixes. We usually have a meet/greet with the dogs. It has never been a problem. We can also keep our dogs inside while you are here. If you have any other questions, please let me know. By the way, I can’t think of a better place to introduce camping to someone. It is a wonderful experience and we can make it pretty easy.
